31 Days Of Basic Beauty

Day 11 - Body Shapes


There are many opinions on how many body shapes there really are. The famous Trinny and Susanna say there are 12 body types, these are very detailed. Im only going to go through the five basic body types.


Rectangle: Bust, waist and hips are generally around the same. This can make the bust look smaller with wider hips. This body shape usually doesn't have a defined waist and often has long legs.

Pear: These body shapes have wider hips and a smaller bust. This can mean that you have a defined waist but you will generally find that it tapers into the full hips. These body shapes can have a large bust but you will find that full hips are a stand out feature.

Hourglass: The shoulders, bust and hips are noticeable larger than your small waist. The waist should be noticible smaller than your hips and shoulders, if not then you probably have a rectangle body type.

Cone: The cone body shape has a large bust and shoulders that are wider than your slim waist and hips. 

Diamond: This shape has a full figure with a broad waist, or her waist, top and bottom have the same circumference. Usually this figure will have a large bust and large hips and a curve at the waist too.
