Autumn Favorites 2016

What.Me.Love?

Autumn has been an exciting season for me. We had our Baby Shower (which was so much fun!), the rain has made an appearance a few times and I have made a concious effort to try a few new things on my face; including new lip colours.

I have to mention my #1 favorite product ever which is the Organic Hemp Washable Makeup Remover Wipe from Juniper Seed. These bad boys don't come cheap but throughout Autumn I have been making a collection on washable essentials to save money and the environment. These are so easy to take care of and I have a nice washing routine with them too.  I would highly recommend investing in these as they great for the environment and your wallet in the long-run.

The Australis MixIt Foundation has been a pleasant surprise for me. I don't have the best experience with foundations and tend to avoid them, sometimes they make me break out, other times they never match my skin colour. But this foundation blends in nicely, has a medium coverage with a natural satin finish. This water based foundation is great for those gals who suffer from oily and combination skin. It contains colour corrective pigments and has a 25+ SPF. It is such a simple foundation that feels so natural on my skin.

Models Prefer were having a sale on a few of their item so I just had to nab myself a couple of the 6 hour Liquid Lips from the stand. I have been reaching for these two during Autumn because they are so easy to apply and the satin finish is just so pretty. Practical: is an orange based colour that really brightens up my fair skin-tone. Resilient: A cool berry toned lip colour perfect for a deeper and richer look.

Models Prefer Liquid Lips.

I really love using oils and serums at night and this Autumn I have been reaching for
Scentrelle Reverse Time Face Serum*. This lightweight, honey coloured serum has been wonderful at giving my skin that extra hydration. Natural ingredients include Tsubaki oil (Japanese Camellia), Maracuja Oil, Rosehip and Caffeine. With this awesome combination it means that I can put it on my face and expect firmness and a natural youthful glow. I can't say I'm disappointed, it truly is a lovely addition to my skincare routine.

A Bit Hippy Don't Act Your Age Moisturiser* was a PR sample given to me to test but it has become a firm favorite of mine to use as an everyday moisturiser. The airless pump bottle makes it easy to get just the right amount of product on my fingertips and the illustrations on the packaging always delights me. Containing natural ingredients and packed full of powerful antioxidants I can really tell that the combo of this moisturiser and the serum has made my skin feel softer and look brighter.

The Franc Essential Body Melt is luxury in a tub. I have seen Franc at my local health food shop and wanted to try some so after a rotten day I decided to treat myself and picked up this tub. I love the ultra-thick consistency and delicious day spa scent. The natural ingredients come with a blend of shea butter and cocoa butter to soften the skin to perfection and the scent belongs to a blend of Almond, apricot, olive and rosehip oils. I only use this on my growing belly and around my shoulders because considering the price- $24.99, I don't want to use it up too quickly!

At the start of Autumn I fished out my Dr Hauschka Translucent Bronzing Tint*. I knew that the sun would be in hiding so I decided that I would need a little help to get that sun-kissed glow. This is such an easy bronzer to use, I just mix a drop in with my daily moisturiser. It is seriously the ultimate lazy-girls answer to uneven skin-tone, a natural looking tan and concealing pigmentation. It is on the pricey side but it lasts forever.

The Sukin Micellar Cleansing Water was something I bought out of desperation because my Body Shop Toner was stinging my face. I needed something gentle that would clean off excess cleanser before I applied my serums and moisturiser. This budget friendly alternative to a toner is just the ticket if your have sensitive/reactive skin. The natural ingredient base doesn't wipe off all of my makeup, but I never expected it too. But, I love how this water doesn't have a strong smell, makes my skin feel cool and fresh, and doesn't sting!

What have you enjoyed this Autumn?

Have Fun!

Have A 'Lush' Mothers Day

Spoil That Special Woman

If you or your mum has a soft spot for all things scented and bubbly then you will love the new Mothers Day range at Lush avaliable from 20th April to the 8th of May.

This gorgeous little Ladybird Bubble Bar* is a sweet little treat to crumble in your bath. Creating bright red bath water it whispers luxury as you sink into the floral scented bubbles.
Sweet Geranium Oil and a hint of peppermint oil help to aid in relaxation and uplifts your mind. This Ladybird makes my skin smell amazing all night.

The Yummy Mummy Shower Cream* is a great gift idea if mum prefers showers over baths. The inviting purple cream has a gorgeous blend of Brazilian orange and geranium oil to create a zesty and feminine fragrance. This shower cream contains cocoa butter to moisturise dry skin and I can't wait to gift this to mum on Mothers Day!

Anything representing an English garden makes me weak at the knees and that's no different with Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb*. I am looking forwards to dropping this in the bath and watching it fizz away in a kaleidoscope of pink and blue. The triple blend of rose petals, rose absolute and rose oil is enough to satisfy the most hardcore Rose fan. Later comes the hints of Sicilian Lemon, floral Geranium and Turkish rose oil to keep you coming back for more!

Ego Skincare *Part 2*

Fun For The Kids

In Part 1 of my Ego Skincare post I concentrated on the gentle and effective baby range, this time it's the bigger kids turn. The kids range is pH balanced and is suitable for sensitive skin including skin that is prone to eczema and dermatitis. (top to bottom)

The QV Kids Foaming Wash* is for the lovers of bubbles. This gentle formula comes in a foam dispensing bottle and is soap free. Kids can use this in the bath by dampening their skin and then rubbing the foam on their body before rinsing it off. This light foam can also be used to clean hair.

Miss E. has been using the QV Kids Wash* in her evening bath and I can attest to the fact that it is simple and it does the job. Don't expect a huge amount of bubbles in your bath with this wash but do expect a clean child! This kids wash can be used in the bath, shower or hand basin as an everyday skin wash.

The QV Kids Moisturising Cream* is a brilliant way to ensure that the kids have soft healthy skin. This easily absorbed formula is dermatologically tested to suit any skin type. Vitamin A and E are added in clever micro beads. I use this if Miss E has dry patches on her body or face.

Ego Skincare *Part 1*

This One Is For Babies

Having a young daughter I am always concious of what I put on her skin. And with another bubba on the way I have to careful what I put on his skin and on mine (during that lovely skin-to-skin contact).
The number one thing I look for is a fragrance free product... they bring Miss E up in little rashes. Well, Ego products don't have fragrance, or colours. They are pH balanced, meaning that they wont strip good oils off the skin and they are gentle and hydrating.
The QV Baby Range come in all the things you need to get started with your babys' skincare kit (left to right):

The QV Baby Gentle Wash* is a mild cleansing solution for bub and anyone suffering from exzema, psoriasis and dermatitis. It is suitable to use on the hair and body with a gentle foaming action. This comes in a 250g bottle and can be found at your local pharmacy and Priceline.

A hydrating and gentle cream comes in the form of QV Baby Moisturising Cream*. This is a tub that I am thinking of bringing in my hospital bag when I have bub as my own moisturiser. Any moisturiser that a baby can use is good for new mums to use too so that they don't irritate baby's skin. This concentrated formula is designed to protect baby's skin for 24 hours.

This handy little 50g tube of QV Baby Barrier Cream* is perfect to add to my nappy bag (or changing station). This rich and soothing cream is designed to protect babys' skin against nappy rash and other irritants such as chafing, eczema, heat rash and sensitive skin. It's an all-in-one cream that's handy-dandy!

A brilliant idea for bubs delicate skin is the QV Baby Bath Oil*. This water dispersible oil is a gentle cleanser for a nice warm bath. Being an oil it is also a valuable moisturiser for baby's delicate skin. This is especially good if you suffer from really dry skin in Winter.

Oh my goodness! Just writing this review on the QV range has made me that bit MORE clucky. Its a shame I have to wait a little longer to use these gentle products on my new baby boys skin. Next review is the QV Kids range that my daughter has been enjoying during her bath time, so watch out for that one!

Have Fun!

Skincare That Is 'A Bit Hippy'

Skincare For The Hippy Inside You

Its a special time when I find a skincare line that is a 'love at first sight" kind of thing. I found A Bit Hippy on Instagram and was shortly send a few of their products to review. A Bit Hippy do a bit of everything from Skincare, haircare, baby care and some makeup. They are an Australian made, cruelty free and vegan line that is suitable for all ages. A Bit Hippy believe that using natural ingredients in replacement of synthetics and chemical fillers is healthier for your skin and better for your well-being.

That being said, lets have a look at the Bubbles Without Troubles* from the baby range. The use of natural Glucose and Coconut based cleansers create a natural soap with lots of fun bubbles for bub. Rice Bran Oil is used to create soft and moisturised skin.
I have been using this for a couple of weeks on a shower sponge (I prefer showers not baths) and I love how quickly this cream bubbles and pops on my skin. I cant seem to tire of looking at the lovely pictures on the packaging as I am standing in the shower either, I just love the labelling. The 500ml bottle will last me a while, which is a huge bonus as I don't like to rotate shower creams too often.

The Soothing and Improving Moisturiser* is a natural based moisturiser for the body and face. Loaded with soothing and calming ingredients this cream has Aloe Vera and Liquorice Root and the result is soft and hydrated skin. This very thick cream comes in a pump bottle and has barely any scent.
I have also noticed that I am not plagued by dry patches after using this particularly on my arms. My favorite benefit of using this cream on my body is the redness from dry and dehydrated skin has completely disappeared. That makes me a very happy hippy.

I am always on the lookout for a face moisturiser with that extra "oomph" during Autumn and Winter. Swapping my Spring/Summer light Jojoba Oil to the Don't Act Your Age Anti-Aging Moisturiser* has been a brilliant for my skin! According to A Bit Hippy the biggest factors of aging is too much sun, dryness and oxidisation. This natural cream is packed full of antioxidants such as liquorice root extract and Resveratrol. The vitamins and oils added help to prevent dryness and soothe sun damage skin.
To use this I cleanse, tone, and apply a serum, then I get a pea size amount of the moisturiser and let it soften a bit on my fingertips. I then pat it on my face and wait a minute for this thick cream to start soaking into my skin, that's when I rub it it. Because of the thick consistency it takes a little time to absorb into my skin but its definitely worth it!

From the three items I have reviewed I am keen to try more. I am 'itching' to checkout the Natural Tinted Cover Cream and the Natural Lipsticks.
Have a look at the A Bit Hippy Website and let me know what sparks your attention.

Have Fun!
