Achieving The Perfect Shining Eyes

Gilded Cage Cosmetics

Gilded Cage Cosmetics* is not a brand I was familiar with, that was until now. To me Gilded Cage is a glamorous and creative brand stepping out the box of what make up 'should be' and diving into the depths of what makeup 'could be.'
Individualism is highly cherished by Gilded Cage cosmetics and as part of the beautiful cosmetics for the lips and eyes that they have to offer is the Revelation Eyeshadow.
Packaged like a lip-gloss, this tube has a doe foot applicator that allows you to colour around the eyes and blend out for your desired look.
I have to admit that as soon as I received this product I was a bit dumbfounded as how it could serve me in everyday life. I'm a mum to a three year old and a new born so I don't exactly go nightclubbing or out to the town anymore. but I wanted needed to incorporate this beautiful semi-translucent platinum No:25  into my makeup routine pronto! I applied the colour to my top lash line without blending it out and I was very pleased with the somewhat 90's look it gave, remember glitter eyeliners?
Wearing the eyeshadow feels light-as-a-feather and is smudge proof once dry and fares well under a tough day - I was having a pretty average day when I tested this eye shadow out. I also love that Guilded Cage Cosmetics are a cruelty free brand so they are kind to animals.

So...? Not a product I would just pick up on a whim but I'm very glad that I had the opportunity to try it. This eye-shadow is stunning quality and creates a beautiful effect on the eyes. I would highly recommend this eye-shadow as it delivers what  it claims to do! At a price of $38.00 a tube this luxury brand is something to spoil myself with.

Have Fun!

Why We Should Embrace A Bit Of Papaya.

Little Innoscents Organic Paw Paw Balm*

If your a fan of Paw Paw then I have no doubt that you will love this new Paw Paw Balm* from Little Innoscents. The papaya plant is widely known to heal and has antibiotic and anti inflammatory properties. Paw Paw is a magical fruit that contains vitamins A,C and E also iron and calcium. As a beauty lover and a parent I am a big fan of this ointment. It has all natural ingredients such as sunflower seed oil, shea butter, beeswax, avocado oil and papaya fruit extract. This ointment has a pleasant cherry flavour thanks to the cherry coconut extract.

I love that this product has ingredients that I can understand and not a bunch of chemical additives. I have been applying this to my lips for a couple of weeks and I have noticed that it stays on my lips instead of sinking into my skin or sliding down to my chin. This allows my lips to be drenched in a soothing ointment while they are feeling utterly moisturised. Paw Paw is also famous for healing and soothing cracked nipples, bug bites, burns, cuts, grazes and hydrating dry cuticles.

In my opinion Paw Paw is a necessity in any first aid kit. Personally, I would reach for the most natural kind that doesn't have any petrochemicals. I mean, I want it to heal my skin, so why would I apply chemicals to damaged skin?

It is clear to me that the good people at Little Innocents are as against synthetic additives as I am. And if I have a read of the ingredients on the back I don't see anything 'iffy' at all, just easy to read ingredients that are Australian Certified Organic. I certainly recommend checking out the new Paw Paw Balm if you want something pure and simple to chuck in your handbag for hydration and healing.

Gluten-free Baked Cheesecake Slice

Strawberry and Chocolate Cheesecake Slice.

This Gluten-free slice is a crowd pleaser, it's not too sweet but will still satisfy the dessert fan. Gluten-free biscuits can be swapped for regular arrowroot biscuits. That will work fine. Or you could even use chocolate biscuits if you really want that choco hit!

Ingredients:

Method:

Grease a 3cm-deep, 17cm x 27cm (base) slice pan. Line with baking paper, allowing a 2cm overhang at long ends.

Process biscuits until finely chopped. Add butter. Process until combined. Press mixture evenly over base of prepared pan. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 170°C/150°C fan-forced.

Using an electric mixer, beat cheese until smooth. Add sugar. Beat for 5 minutes or until thickened. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating to combine. Fold in strawberries and chocolate. Spoon into prepared pan.

Autumn/Winter Skincare Routine

For Skin Needing Extra Hydration and Care

Morning

 Sukin Micellar Cleansing water
This cleansing water is so gentle and great for freshening up my skin after I have woken up. Im always in too much of a rush in the morning to properly cleanse my face over the sink so I just pop a bit on a face towel and wipe it on.
Kosmea SPF 30+ moisturiser.
I still have plenty of this left over from my Spring/Summer routine and it is doing me well. I use this as my day time moisturiser as it is light and has a SPF 30+.

Evening

Cleanse with Toby and Rosie Activated Charcoal Bar
This is a product I always go back to. The bar form is so convenient to rub straight onto my face and it last for ages. I also love the all natural ingredients and I can trust that it wont dry my skin out.
Tone with Sukin Micellar Cleansing water
I use this also as a toner after cleansing at night, I find that it preps my skin for the moisturisers and wipes away any excess makeup that may have stuck to my face and eye area.
Scentrelle Reversed Time Face Serum
Adding a serum to my daily routine has really upped my skins hydration and health. This particular serum is gentle and contain rose-hip and caffeine to help stimulate skins elasticity.
A Bit Hippy Don't Act Your Age Face Moisturiser.
The last step of my nighttime routine involves this gorgeous and creamy moisturiser. I like this non- scented cream as it is just heavy enough to hydrate my suffering Winter skin.

Treatment

Moreish Exfoliate: ( not pictured, oops) I keep this in the shower and when I remember I gently exfoliate to renew the look of my complexion. This is usually once a week.
Sukin Purifying Facial Masque: I barely have time to apply a mask anymore but when I do I really enjoy using this creamy clay masque. It makes my skin feel so soft and fresh. Lovely!

Let me know in the comments what your essential skincare product is for the cooler months.

Have Fun!
