Models Prefer Lip Balm Gift Box

So Many Choices!

The other day I went into Priceline and spotted the Models Prefer Read My Lips Collection, At $20.00 for ten lip balms I thought that it was a great deal and there were so many colours included. A lot of them I have never used before, like purple. At the price of one High end lip gloss I ended up getting ten great quality lip balms and I am very happy with them! The colours range from bright coral to a perfect nude, with orange and blue based reds and pinks in-between. I think this would be a perfect Christmas present for those who are mad for makeup and you have a tight budget.

From Left to Right: Hokey Pokey, Popping Candy, Sweet Sorbet, Fizz Wizz, Soda Pop
Strawberry Soufle, Cherry Cola, Sour Grape, Rocky Road, Creme Brulee.

Surprisingly my two favorites are Creme Brulee (a glossy nude) and Sour Grape, (the subtle purple). Both seem to compliment my skin tone really well. I am excited to find new lip colours I like other than my usual pink.

Face Of Australia Compact Foundation

Couldn't Help It...

Last week I found myself in Target finishing up my Christmas shopping ( very early I know), and wandered past the cosmetic section. I only stop at three stands because I know that they are cruelty free, e.l.f, Australis and Face of Australia. I picked up and under eye concealer from e.l.f and this gorgeous looking compact foundation from Face of Australia.
I don't need any more makeup really, but the clever people at Face of Australia has decided to make the packaging of this particular product absolutely irresistible. Well done marketing team. The actual product itself is also great. The colour I chose was Ivory, It has a yellowish undertone to it and I will have to be careful at how much I apply on my blue undertone skin. But even so, the shade still works well on my skin. The cream turns into the much desired powdery finish when applied to the skin and never feels greasy or looks oily. On my skin the foundation looks natural and easily hides any uneven skin tone (which I am prone to), and has a gorgeous velvety finish.
I love the pretty lace design on the lid and I think it should be a permanent feature on the Face of Australia products, there is definitely a bit of a gap in the market for gorgeous looking packaging on Australian brands.

Have you tried this compact? What do you think of the design?

Have Fun!

NS-8 Foot and Leg Moisturiser

An Old Favorite...

I first discovered NS-8 Foot and Leg Moisturiser* when I was working in Pharmacy about five years ago. We had a rep come and introduce the brand to us and did a bit of training with us. I ended up buying some and absolutely loved the results.
I found the formula is super hydrating and light and made my skin much less flaky. In fact on the third day my skin was significantly smoother and softer.
One con that I can think of is that to me the packaging is a bit boring and 'clinical' looking. I gravitate towards packaging that's a bit prettier and if I wasn't introduced to this product at work I would still be walking past it to this day. I suppose that the  NS-8 Foot and Leg Moisturiser is also suitable for men  and also a market for any age group, so maybe that's why its not all covered in flowers and glitter? This lotion does not have any scent so it is good for those of you who are sensitive to fragrances.
The NS-8 Moisturiser contains Menthol, so its really cooling on the skin. It also contains Vitamins C, E and F and 10% Urea to help prevent dry and rough skin. This moisturiser is a real winner, seriously it works, and I have actually recommended this to many of my friends and family who have also liked the outcome.

Have your tried this before? Or any of the NS range?

Have Fun!

Model Co Summer Look

Easy Peasy Makeup...

Today I thought I would have a play around with my Model Co Cosmetics. My aim was to use 3 main products to create a really simple and fresh makeup look using minimal products. This is really important to me because I often don't have a lot of time to apply makeup if I'm going out.

A basic and natural makeup look.

The Model Co Shine Gloss* is very pretty. Even with minimal application the gloss leaves a super shine to my lips and looks very glam. This gloss is perfect to be worn alone or over lipstick for a gorgeous finishing touch. I wore the gloss on it's own because I hardly ever put lipstick on my lips for an everyday basis. This lip gloss is in "striptease" which is a light peach colour and leaves a 'barely there' shade on my lips. The formula is just sticky enough to stay on the lips but won't glue my lips together in a taffy-like mess. I don't really reach for lip glosses, but because of this brilliant shine that it leaves on my lips I am a bit addicted!

Swatch of Model Co Shine Lipgloss in Striptease.

I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of coverage Model Co BB+ Cream has to offer. I feel like I can really use this as a foundation and not bother with concealer (although if you have a few blemishes, concealers are always a life saver.) This BB cream is not sticky, greasy or drying. It's so light weight that it feels like I'm practically wearing nothing. An added bonus is that it's SPF 30+ so that means when I reach for this in the morning I will also be getting some great sun protection.

Model Co BB+ Cream in Light

The Model Co Lash Extend in Black is my favourite item out of all these. I love the fibre lash technology I dont know how I will go back to just painting my eyelashes really. The fibres are so small that they create a clump free look and the application is so easy. I just built up the volume slowly and steadily without needing to wait for each layer to dry! To remove I used cold water on a cotton pad and gently wiped away ( even though the instructions said to use warm water, but who can really wait for the hot water to heat up?).
A favorite and I will be looking at repurchasing this when I have used this up!

Model Co is a PETA certified cosmetics company. They do not have any animal testing on the products from the manufacturing to the supplier or producer, nor are there any sneaky third parties doing their dirty work on animals. So if you prefer your brands to be cruelty free but easy to find in places like Priceline then Model Co is a good one for you.

What product do you like the look of?

Have Fun!

*Native Box Unboxing* Spring 2014

Spring Is In The Air...

I have been looking forward to receiving my Native Box for weeks and it finally arrived! This is my second Native Box that I have received via subscription and I am loving it. So let's get stuck in and see what was inside.

Sukin Hand and Nail Cream: It says on the information leaflet that this is the Sukin Hydrating Body Lotion. Obviously it isn't, thats OK. This smooth and light lotion has a very faint floral scent , some may argue there isn't any scent at all. It doesn't grease up the palm of my hands after it has been rubbed in, that's a bonus! This cream contains aloe vera and Vitamin E to help smooth my hands and improve elasticity in the skin.

Pure by Pytocare Pure Papaya (Paw Paw) Ointment: I first discovered Paw Paw Ointment when I was working in Pharmacy about six years ago. I used to slather it on my dry lips all day because it works wonders on dry chapped lips. This natural ointment is brilliant at soothing and nourishing nipples whilst breastfeeding, use as a nappy rash cream, rub into red and dry cuticles, promoting skin elasticity, heap of things. How? Because it is a fantastic source of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes.

Australian Bush Flower Essences (ABFE): I was very pleased to find another sample from ABFE. The hand cream I got last time smelt absolutely amazing so I wondered if all their products smelt that good. This face cleanser has such a pungent citrus scent, but not in a bad way, just in a different way. It kind of smells like every Australian citrus smell available and crammed into one tube. It's very delicious! I will be trying this on those mornings when I need a bit of a wake-me-up.

Herbacraft Gypsy Rose Un-Tainted 2 in 1 Shampoo: Wow what a mouthful that name is! I am fascinated by this product. I can see that it contains Apple Cider Vinegar which is a great conditioner for the hair and makes it nice and shiny. This mixture is super concentrated and an application of 8 small shakes is enough for long hair. However it says that I have to wash my hair up to 3 times the first use so that I can get a small lather from the liquid, that may take a bit of time. My curiosity has won so I think I will definitely try this out even though the instructions are a bit long winded.

Herbacraft Gypsy Rose Dry Skin Facial Soap Mixture: This beautiful smelling soap claims to be a 3 in 1 cleanser, toner and moisturiser for your face. I received the soap for dry skin which I think would be fine for my skin and since it is such a tiny slither that I found in the packet, I am sure I will use this. I tend to use sample sizes up first then move onto full size products. This contains an interesting combination of Pawpaw and carrot extract, Orange sentimental oil and Olive Oil.

Go Green At Home Eco Toothbrush: I have spoken a lot about the environmental toothbrush. I have had them in posts about my favorite things and I have also posted a small review on them and about the effects of plastic toothbrushes and the environment and landfill.  I already know I love this product. I am also glad that Native Box has added some eco conscious hygiene bits into the Spring box this season. Perhaps a lot of people aren't aware about biodegradable toothbrushes?

Natralus Pure Aloe Vera: *sigh.  I know, I know a lot of bloggers aren't keen on sachets. I enjoy finding a couple in subscription boxes because I use them all the time. I have a small draw with sachets and regularly rummage through it and pick bits out when I need them. Aloe Vera is so handy to have as well, especially if there is a baby in the house. This aloe vera contains no added colour and is alcohol free, so its a lot more pure than some of the other aloevera gels out on the market. Its great to apply on sunburn to soothe and cool the skin.

Anerah Rejuvenating Mineral Mask: This was an exciting find for me because I love these kind of masks. This is a clay mask with a blend of kaolin, montmorillonite, green tea and chamomile. These ingredients are great for toning and soothing stressed skin. I have a wedding to go to on the weekend and I will be wearing a full face of makeup on that day, so I plan on trying this out the day after to help cleanse all the grit out my skin and make it feel nice and soft.

Gypsyrose Cd: I also found this CD in the box. I'm not sure what it is and I am not sure if I am very interested in finding out. Who knows it may be good?

Estringbags: These are a great find. I much prefer to use something like this than plastic bags. I think they look cooler as well. These are 100% Cotton, biodegratable, reusable, recyclable and compostable. They hold a whopping 14kgs and they come in lots of diffrent colours. I don't think a plastic bag can do all of that.

So what do I think? This beauty box was really exciting. I really enjoy Native Box because I feel that they really think about what they put into the boxes and they are aware of being eco friendly, animal friendly and organic. I like how the shopping bag was added, even though its not a beauty products its nice to find something a little different stashed down the bottom.

Arbonne Skincare

Who you gonna call?

Hello again!  This week I have been contemplating on what I should blog about and I thought I would like to tell you a bit about the Arbonne skincare range. Arbonne is not a brand that you will find in your supermarkets or chemists . In fact Arbonne is sold through those "home party plans". I went to a Arbonne party at a friends house recently, Sharlee was the brilliant consultant, and we all did a small facial on ourselves using thier skincare and my skin instantly felt really soft and very clean and had no sensitivity at all.
Arbonne are Vegan and they don't test on animals which of course is a big thumbs up for me. One of the most interesting things I found out about Arbonne is that they don't pay for advertising, it's all word of mouth (and possibly bloggers, ha!) So they can sell a really great product at a low price because they don't have to pay for any media coverage.

I recieved one of these sample packs from Cassie at the Perth Beauty Bloggers Meetup. This is the same skincare we used on our facial at the party so I'm excited to get stuck into this. The pack contains:
Smoothing Facial Cleanser
Regenatating Toner
Intensive Renewal Serum
Corrective Eye Creme
Restorative Day Creme SPF 15
Extra Moisture Restorative Day Creme SPF 15
Night Repair Creme

Arbonne have a wide range of skincare, bath & body, hair care, suncare, makeup, fragrance and nutrition supplements. My favourite are the foundations, they are so nice and they have such a wide range of shades to choose from. I love how the consultants are always too happy to answer any questions I have and they have so much knowledge on the products!

I just really like their products!

Have Fun!

This week I'm Loving...

Toby and Rosie Natural Skincare and Soaps

Every girl has their favourites. Some love lipsticks. Some love a great mascara. Others are still searching for the perfect nail colour. I fall into the category of those girls who love a great soap and moisturiser. It's not unusual to find me at the local markets smelling all the soaps and testing out the handmade lotions and body scrubs. I can't seem to help myself.
I stumbled upon a skincare shop called Toby and Rosie a few weeks ago when I was doing a little bit of research for my blog and instantly fell in love with the variety of cruelty free and organic skincare that these guys offer.
Last week I was able to justify buying a few soaps because Christmas is coming up and I was running very low on skincare, so this is what I bought and why.

I love mochas and who would have thought to make a mocha soap? Toby and Rosie of course! This is a really decent size of 200g and it smells fantastic. There are bits of coffee beans on top and ground coffee powder in the bar. Olive Oil and Coco Butter really moisturise the skin while ground coffee powder buffs away dead skin to reveal soft and smooth skin.

After doing a bit of research on Charcoal I'm not so afraid of it now. I decided to get the Activated Charcoal soap and use it as a face cleanser. This bar is also huge at 200g, so I'm guessing it will last a long time. Activated charcoal has no scent so it would be perfect for men and women (I'm hoping to convince my husband to try this.) To use this I just wet my face with warm water, lather the soap in my hands and massage it around then wash it off. I would still recommend a moisturiser with this one because my face felt a little tight after using this.

For the man, aka. my dad, I decided to buy him a little something for Christmas because he uses a lot of the shaving gels and lotions that have all those yucky chemicals. This has a distinct smell of clay (if you use pink clay you would know what I am talking about) Beer has plenty of vitamins and minerals that are great for making skin soft and supple and clay aids for a nice slip on the skin making it easy to get a close shave. This bar is also suitable for ladies who shave.

Rainforest Mist*, what an amazing name for a body scrub! This name reminds me of walking into a rainforest just after it has been raining. This is made of organic raw sugar and has avocado oil and olive oil to help moisturise the skin. I think this is a really interesting blend of essential oils of Bergamont, Tea Tree, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass and mint and it creates a really refreshing, light and crisp scent.

Have Fun!
